Just Uptime Offers Monitoring Service

By Justin Lee, theWHIR.com

August 22, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Internet solutions provider Just Develop It (justdevelopit.com) announced on Thursday it is offering Just Uptime (justuptime.com) a new web based server monitoring and alert service.

DataPipe’s high-value managed global IT services help thousands of businesses decrease CAPEX, OPEX, & risk while increasing overall service levels. Partner with DataPipe – Improve your ROI - Extend your IT resources

The alert service requires no installation, and offers advanced reporting features that display the user's uptime, downtime and response time.

The service performs checks in intervals of 1, 5, 15, 30, and 60 minutes from multiple worldwide locations and offers SMS text message alerts plus email and curl notifications the minute an issue arises.

Users can set up a simple website check by entering the domain name of a website that requires monitoring.

From that point on, the service will monitor response time as well as downtime, sending users instant text message notifications as soon as there is a problem according to the preferences set up by the user.

By setting the preferences, users can define who is alerted in each situation ensuring the appropriate person is automatically notified.

And though the service will not prevent downtime all together, Just Uptime says it will significantly reduce the length of downtime as well as the impact it has on a company's reputation and revenue.

There are also more advanced server checks available including HTTP/HTTPS, Ping, TCP/UDP, DNS and POP3/IMAP/SMTP errors, enabling the webmaster to monitor every aspect of a website or server to ensure they are functioning well.

"Our depth of information allows more immediate response time to server incidents, which is vital as website downtime can be so costly," says Luke Kendall, product manager of Just Uptime. "Uptime monitoring also helps customers to choose the best hosting provider for their company as valid downtime values are now made more obvious."

Just Uptime says that users can set up an account "within minutes" and monitor a nearly "unlimited number of servers at once," providing them specified alerts to each website or server incident.

The service is available in two plans: the Basic Account includes 5 checks, 20 SMS and 100 email notifications, while the Premium Account comes with 30 checks, 200 SMS and 100 email notifications.

The company is also offering all new users a 30 day free trial to celebrate the launch of the service.

Just Develop It is a company that offers a range of Internet solutions, including online storage and virtual sales agents. The company offers branded solutions such as Just Uptime and web hosting provider Just Host (justhost.com).

In 2007, the group developed an in house operation to externally monitor its servers for downtime/uptime. Since its launch, Just Uptime has signed a number of companies as customers, including SingleHop, IPOWER, and Nextiva.

Last week, on-demand test and measurement solutions provider Keynote Systems began offering its own server monitoring system, Keynote Internet Testing Environment, for free.
