August 21, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Thursday that it has been selected by fashion company Liz Claiborne (lizclaiborne.com) to connect its operations in 25 countries globally.
Verizon Business has begun deployment of a fully-managed Verizon Private IP solution to support the company's global communications needs.
The implementation, which was completed in May, enables Liz Claiborne to enhance network management and achieve significant global cost efficiencies.
As an international fashion house, Liz Claiborne designs and markets a global portfolio of fashion brands including Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand Jeans and Mexx, as well as develops department store-based brands including the Liz Claiborne and Monet families, the licensed DKNY Jeans Group, Enyce, Mac & Jac/Kensie and Narciso Rodriguez.
The company is expanding rapidly and currently employs over 17,000 employees at 25 locations around the world.
To support both its current operations and future growth, Liz Claiborne was seeking a global network provider to streamline its overall communication infrastructure.
The company said it specifically needed a provider that had a global reach with local support capabilities, as well as firm cost control.
Verizon Business' fully managed Verizon Private IP and Secure Gateway solution provides Liz Claiborne with a cost-effective solution that securely connects both central and branch offices back to its core network, as well as a secure environment to facilitate remote and in-office access to business-critical applications.
The solution also offers the company a solid foundation on which to build future IP-based communications applications to improve its global internal and external collaboration capabilities.
Verizon Business in-country support staff across three regions, while the company's service level agreements provide extensive and reliable support capabilities.
"Verizon Business' global network capability, extensive solutions portfolio, and commitment to customer service are fundamental to our overall proposition," says Andrew Dobbins, regional vice president for Asia Pacific at Verizon Business. "Our proven managed service solution coupled with our strong global presence and dedicated local teams make a winning combination for leading global brands like Liz Claiborne."
In May, Verizon Business announced plans to open an office in Dubai Internet City to further strengthen its service and support capabilities across the Middle East.
