August 14, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Berlin-based email encryption solutions provider Zertificon (zertificon.com) has released version 2.3 of its Z1 SecureMail Messenger offering optimised performance and security software for the confidential exchange of electronic information.
According to the announcement Wednesday, Z1 SecureMail Messenger, which handles email encrypton completely without the Public Key Infrastructure technology or certificates usually required by conventional solutions, has added new features such as the ability to send confidential messages in portable document format, or PDF. Rather than using complex PKI technology used by security providers like Comodo (comodo.com) that bind public keys with respective user identities through a certificate authority, Z1 SecureMail Messenger password-encrypts email making safe email exchange much easier according to Zertificon.
Zertificon said companies working with private customers, such as banks, insurance companies, tax consultants or lawyers will particularly benefit.
New in version 2.3 is a virtual host mode and the simplified option of adapting the web-based graphic user interface and PDF layout to the corporate design of the client. Geared toward multi-client operation with data centres and key accounts, it is possible for Z1 SecureMail Messenger to assign every client a dedicated web server name on the messenger, enabling individually-adapted log-in pages for internal users.
Z1 SecureMail Messenger is available as a stand-alone product or bundled with other programs in Z1 SecureMail's security portfolio.
