August 14, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- On-demand application management solutions provider Gomez (gomez.com) announced on Monday that online video game rental service GameFly (gamefly.com) has selected the Gomez ExperienceFirst platform to ensure reliable online experiences for gamers renting and buying its more than 5,000 titles.

GameFly says its site makes it easy and appealing for first-time visitors to choose their platform, game, subscription package or purchase in a few intuitive clicks. It switched from another performance management provider to Gomez to support continued growth and expansion of its Web site, says the company.

"Gomez gives us superior visibility into our performance for every region of the country and every element on our Web site," says Neil Seth, GameFly's VP of product management. "For each image, text block, control or form, we can see how long it takes to load, how long it takes to resolve DNS-wise and how long it takes for the object to download to the client. If any performance issues arise, they are by definition already diagnosed and we can fix them before they harm the online experience. We can also easily gauge the performance of our content partners through the intuitive Gomez interface."

Critical Web site performance functions for GameFly include home page response time, registration and product detail display.

Gomez recently extended its sales footprint into Asia Pacific by partnering with e-business solution provider Ecetera that will resell Gomez's services in Australia and New Zealand.
