August 11, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Security and compliance solutions provider nCircle (ncircle.com) has announced two new configuration auditing and file integrity monitoring products designed for the retail sector and other businesses subject to regulations set by the Payment Card Industry's Security Standards Council (pcisecuritystandards.org).
nCircle has packaged these tools in two offerings for specific use. The first is an "agent-less" configuration auditing solution for retail stores with point of sale systems such as cash registers without requiring software agents installed on the monitored system. The second is a file integrity compliance option for organizations starting to implement PCI compliance procedures.
According to the announcement Monday, based on nCircle Configuration Compliance Manager, the new packages streamline the compliance monitoring process by automating routines that before could only have been done manually.
"Configuration auditing has traditionally been difficult or impossible for point of sale systems, and the PCI Data Security Standard requires merchants to monitor the integrity of critical files," nCircle vice president of product management Mark Wood said. "nCircle's Configuration Compliance Manager product has long had these capabilities, but these new packages make it even easier for our customers to get started monitoring their security and ensure compliance at the lowest possible cost."
Through the first half of 2008, nCircle has announced new products including web application scanning solution nCircle WebApp360, management appliance nCircle VnE 5100, new governance, risk and compliance reports and dashboards, and agent-less coverage growth to include more than 18,000 conditions.
