August 9, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Online domain name marketplace Sedo (sedo.com) announced on Wednesday it will assist the world's first live auction for .co.uk domain names. The event will take place at the Domain Focus (domainfocus.org) conference in London on September 6 to 7.

Sedo's event at Domain Focus marks the first time that an auction will be focused on a particular regional top level domain. .Co.uk is the second most popular country code TLD in the world, having recently surpassed the six million registration mark. 

"Domain Focus will bring together all of the major players in the UK domain space," says Matt Bentley, chief strategy officer at Sedo. "It is the perfect venue for Sedo to begin staking our claim in the Live Domain Auction space."

The Sedo Auction at Domain Focus will feature over 50 high-quality one-word .co.uk domain names, including Sport.co.uk, Phones.co.uk, Fly.co.uk, PDA.co.uk, Conferences.co.uk and Decorating.co.uk. The London Domain Focus is the first in a series of exclusive conferences offering top domain industry players a high-level networking environment for optimal learning and business development.

Sedo announced last month it closed the highest .info sale to date with Travel.info selling for $116,000.
