August 7, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data protection products provider R1Soft (r1soft.com) announced on Tuesday the updated launch of its MySQL backup product that now offers True Granular Restore, a new feature that provides developers and administrators more control and options when restoring MySQL databases.
True Granular means that for the first time, MySQL administrators can more closely control what data is restored right down to the individual table level, says the company. Any combination of tables or databases can be selected and optionally restored to alternate locations, enabling new flexibility when only a small amount of data may need to be restored in a large database. R1Soft says restoring to an alternate location enables administrators to review the restored data before committing it to a live database environment or even extract individual rows or objects.
"When we began developing our product, we realized that table level restores would be the killer new feature for MySQL database recovery," says David Wartell, R1Soft founder and CEO. "Other backup software vendors have been sitting back and waiting for MySQL to build them a next-generation backup API, which is years away at best. We made a decision early on that we are not going to wait, and neither should the market. With our product, the MySQL community finally has the easy to use and high performance backup software it needs."
This week, R1Soft will be showcasing its newly released MySQL backup products at LinuxWorld Conference and Expo at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.
