August 2, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- European data center operator TelecityRedbus (telecityredbus.com) announced on Thursday that it plans to build a new data center in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The new facility will be launched in two phases, each with approximately 21,500 square feet of net customer space. The first phase is expected to be ready for customers in the second quarter of 2008, with construction of the second phase beginning by 2009.
TelecityRedbus says it is currently waiting for final planning permission for both phases of the site. Including a data center currently under construction in London, the Amsterdam 4 facility will be the company's 20th data center in Europe.
