July 21, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Emory University (emory.edu) has signed a 10-year deal with colocation facility AtlantaNAP (atlantanap.com/about.php) to provide real-time data backup for the university and hospital systems housed in AtlantaNAP's new data center expansion area.

According to the announcement Monday, the deal, worth up to $10 million, will extend Emory's current 10GB Atlanta Gas Light Networks (aglnetworks.com) ring to AtlantaNAP's facility for high capacity online backup and archives.
Located in nearby Atlanta suburb Druid Hills, Emory University was the first client to move into in the new data center.
As part of the deal, the prestigious school will occupy up to 5,000 square feet of cage colocation space and fully redundant power feeds.
AtlantaNAP president Jeff Hinkle is pleased to welcome Emory University to the facility. "They are great to work with and add to our growing list of high end enterprise users choosing the NAP for their mission critical data center needs," Hinkle said in a statement.
