July 18, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Marking the fourth data center launch since April, IT infrastructure service provider SAVVIS (savvis.net) announced on Friday the opening of its expanded data center in Singapore in an effort to cater to the growing "global customer demand for integrated hosting and network services."
Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.
It is believed SAVVIS now operates 30 data centers in the US, Europe and Asia encompassing more than 1.4 million square feet of raised floor space.
Offering more than 18,000 square feet of raised floor space, SAVVIS says the data center builds on its long-term presence in Asia Pacific and the company's continued investment in the region demonstrates excellent business opportunities and confidence in the market.
"The Asia Pacific region is experiencing tremendous growth, which creates pressure on companies to manage their IT infrastructure and at the same time manage their costs," says Aye See, Tan, managing director of SAVVIS Asia Pacific. "We offer IT infrastructure as a utility, completely changing the way companies can manage capital expenditure. With SAVVIS' infrastructure-as-a-service strategy, businesses now have the option to remove the burden of running their IT operations and increase their focus on business growth."
The facility in Singapore provides a broad range of IT infrastructure services including managed hosting, virtualized and utility computing, managed networks, managed security services and consultancy services, says the company. The Singapore data center will also offer SAVVIS' Proximity Hosting services enabling customers to connect via low latency network access to the Singapore Exchange.
Proximity Hosting, says SAVVIS, provides "hedge funds and the automated trading community with a low latency environment for market data and trade execution by securely hosting their application servers in an exclusive area of a SAVVIS' data center that is located close to the source servers of major exchanges and electronic communications networks."
In April, SAVVIS was listed among the top managed hosting providers for growth in the last 12 months despite the dipping economy in the US, according to research and analysis firm Tier 1 research. Confirming that growth trend, the company recently opened a new data center in Chicago in June and another one in London in May.
Last week, SAVVIS announced it has partnered with intelligent risk systems firm iJET Worldcue Solutions to help multinational corporations and government organizations monitor and assess global threats.
