July 16, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Netherlands web hosting provider LeaseWeb (leaseweb.com) announced on Wednesday it is using a FAS 3040HA mid-range platform by NetApp (netapp.com) to offer its customers a complete storage-on-demand platform.

The platform will enable the company to offer a range of hosted services, including managed back-up, archiving, disaster recovery, replication and deduplication.
LeaseWeb currently hosts more than 11,000 servers in the Netherlands from four data centers. To offer its customers additional storage services, the web host ordered the design of a shared and virtual storage platform.

In deciding on a platform, LeaseWeb compared storage platforms of several providers and eventually decided on NetApp's FAS 3040HA mid-range platform for its scalability, uniformity and opportunities for further expansion.
The FAS 3040HA platform supports servers as well as FC SAN, IP SAN and multiple network configurations. Additionally, the platform can scale to powerful systems without the need for any special data migration.
Data center software provider Liquid Computing partnered with NetApp last month to provide customers with data center solutions by combining networking, computing and storage capabilities.
