July 15, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Customer feedback and online reputation management services provider RatePoint (ratepoint.com) announced Tuesday it has added NameMedia (namemedia.com) president and chief operating officer Jeff Bennett to its board of directors.

Considered a leader in the fields of social media and e-commerce, Bennett comes to the RatePoint board to continue the company's growth in the online reputation management market, according to RatePoint co-founder and CEO Neal Creighton.
"With Jeff's breadth of experience and his leadership in the technology market, we feel we're even better positioned to lead in the reputation management space," Creighton said in a statement. "Where technology is constantly changing, Jeff is the type of person who immerses himself in thinking strategically in driving the market successfully, and his track record speaks for itself."
Taking on the new role at RatePoint, Bennett will continue managing day-to-day operations as president and COO of NameMedia. NameMedia is involved "in the acquisition, development and trading of digital real estate through a network of highly targeted websites and a marketplace for premium domain names" reaching more than 70 million visitors monthly, according to a company statement. Bennett led the effort to acquire BuyDomains with Highland Capital and Summit Partners and develop the YesDirect Network that would be the foundation of NameMedia.
Prior to NameMedia, Bennett filled executive roles at Terra-Lycos and Lycos, including vice president and general manager of e-commerce, having founded Lycos E-Commerce and led its extraordinary growth, establishing a 1,000 merchant and small business marketplace within six months.
Bennett joins Creighton the other current board members, RatePoint co-founder and CTO Christopher Bailey, Prism VentureWorks (prismventure.com) general partner Jim Counihan and 406 Ventures (406ventures.com) managing partner Larry Begley.
