July 14, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Software virtualization and provisioning solutions provider FastScale Technology (fastscale.com) has launched the latest version of its software management solution FastScale Composer Suite, enabling lightweight software provisioning to physical and virtual machines in large heterogeneous environments.
Announced Monday, FastScale Composer Suite will now deliver a unified product for managing hybrid environments that is compatible with Windows Server 2003 and RHEL 5.2, along with its original Linux environment. "FastScale Composer Suite is the only technology on the market today to fully automate the process of building, managing and deploying server software environments for enterprise class data centers and Web farms, whether the infrastructure is physical, virtual or both," according to a FastScale press release.
FastScale CEO Lynn LeBlanc said that FastScale Composer has been deployed in a wide range of enterprise large-scale Linux environments since its launch in April 2007. "As the deployment of virtualization increases in production environments, we hear daily that customers need a solution to manage the hybrid mix of physical and virtual machines spanning both Linux and Windows environments," LeBlanc said in a statement. "We are very excited to be able to offer such a powerful and streamlined solution to address such a complex and broad-based industry problem."
The company said that the improvements will not make the FastScale Composer Suite software environment bulky. It is still on average 95 percent smaller than traditional software and the new version builds on the company's Application Blueprinting technology to deliver lightweight provisioning of the application layer.
The new release also promises increased scalability and usability with streamlined configuration settings, enhanced navigation, and improved web and command line interfaces, according to FastScale.
