Announced Thursday, San Francisco-based FreeCRM said the addition of VeriSign EV SSL to new and current Professional Edition customer accounts provides the most comprehensive protection of customer data in the industry. VeriSign protects more than 900,000 Web servers with digital certificates, protecting the majority of secure sites on the internet, according to VeriSign, including 95% of Fortune 500 sites and 90 percent of the Internet Retailer 500 (internetretailer.com/top500).
FreeCRM also noted that all organizations with information worth protecting are susceptible to phishing and other online scams and protective measures should not be limited to banks and retailers.
