July 2, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Security solutions provider Alert Logic (alertlogic.net) announced on Wednesday it has released version 1.1 of its flagship log management product, Alert Logic Log Manager, which fully uses the power of grid computing and virtualization technologies.
Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.
Alert Logic claims that Log Manager is the first log management solution in the industry to be delivered via a software-as-a-service platform.
The solution enables organizations to secure their networks and comply with regulations such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which require that log data be collected, regularly reviewed and securely archived.
Log Manager 1.1 uses the power of a grid computing infrastructure. Hosted in Alert Logic's data centers, the grids are comprised of a range of low cost virtual computing nodes.
Each node works independently on small computing tasks or cooperates with other nodes to resolve more computationally intensive tasks, such as searching through billions of log events to find a specific incident.
"Analyzing terabytes of log data is computational heavy lifting," says Gene Golovinsky, VP of research and development at Alert Logic. "Our grid puts the power of a supercomputer at the fingertips of our users, when and where it?s needed, to deliver faster search performance than a standalone appliance could possibly deliver."
Log Manager 1.1 offer new features to simplify log search and analysis tasks, enabling organizations to more easily maintain compliance with industry and government regulations.
Some of these features include optimized log search, customizable correlation rules, advanced management of log sources and customizable bandwidth policy.
Alert Logic Log Manager 1.1 is immediately available as an on-demand service, eliminating the need for software or hardware. The solution's subscription fees start at $1,500 per month.
Wholesale technology provider Ingram Micro Services Division signed a deal in March to deliver Alert Logic's on-demand IT compliance and security solutions under the company's own brand names.
