July 1, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- UK managed hosting and data center services provider iomart (iomart.com) has won the contract to provide the IT backbone for Aroxo (aroxo.com), a new online marketplace aiming to rival eBay (ebay.com).

Announced Tuesday, iomart will be powering Aroxo, a service the company describes as a unique, easy-to-use system to help people to get the best online deals with minimal searching. While still in beta testing stages, Aroxo has entered into a multi-year deal to use iomart's intelligent hosting service. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
"Reliability of our service, and thus our servers, is paramount," co-founder Matt Rogers said in the press release. "We are confident that the service provided by iomart gives us that security and reliability as well as a high level of customer service."
Iomart managing director Sarah Haran said, "Aroxo has a great idea and big plans for growth, and we're delighted to be part of such an exciting new business. Security and continuity of service is absolutely paramount, especially for a web-based transactional business like this, and we're confident our hosting service is the most reliable on the market."
Aroxo's partnership with iomart is the latest in an international effort starting with a quarter of a million lines of code, in development and testing for three years, built in India, designed in Croatia and now managed and hosted in the UK.
The news of the Aroxo partnership came on the same day that subsidiary Easyspace (easyspace.com) announced a 50 percent off .eu domain names offer. Until the end of July, .eu domain names will be sold for £6.25 each for a one-year term.
