June 25, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- CohesiveFT (cohesiveft.com) and FlexiScale (flexiscale.com) have announced a partnership to provide on-demand provisioning of mass customization of application stacks in open utility platform FlexiScale.
CohesiveFT's virtualization program Elastic Server will be paired with FlexiScale to enable "on-demand application stack assembly and deployment on a pay-as-you-go Cloud," according to a joint press release.
This combination, they say, will help create scalable, high availability production environments to significantly reduce manpower, capital and energy costs. The partnership is also aimed at increasing productivity throughout development lifecycle of independent software vendors, application developers and quality assurance teams.
According to the press release, developers "will not be dependent on resource constrained operations departments to provision development and testing environments and will be able to change their application stack definitions with the click of a mouse." Also, environments can be recreated quickly when not in use.
Initially, they say, Elastic Server virtual machines will be available as templates on FlexiScale's control panel in a Xen virtual format for use in Virtual Dedicated Servers. In the future, they hope to enable full connectivity between the Elastic Server platform and FlexiScale's Cloud.
