June 18, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- After acquiring Fastservers in April of this year, hosting provider Layered Technologies (layeredtechnologies.com) announced the first tangible result of its efforts to integrate the two businesses this week.
The company said Wednesday it is rolling out the DEFCON Server Management offerings brought over from Fastservers to a select group of current customers.
At the time of the acquistion, Layered Tech CEO Jack Finlayson said in an interview with theWHIR that the DEFCON services at Fastservers were one of the key targets for integration, and one of the things that most attracted the company to Fastservers as an acquisition.
In this week's press release, he reiterated that point with a description of the work the companies have done to bring the offering over to the Layered Tech brand.
"One of the largest opportunities we saw in our acquisition of FastServers.Net was the ability to rapidly offer DEFCON Management Services to our current customers," says Finlayson, quoted in the release. "We have worked together efficiently to make this offering available. We are very pleased to be able to leverage the knowledge and expertise of FastServers.Net and pass that onto our customers for their benefit and value."
The DEFCON Management Services, says Layered Tech, offers a choice between tiered classes of service levels related to server monitoring, security, server software updates and advanced support.
During the first phase of deployment, existing customers of Layered Tech can apply to purchase the managed services. An application form has been posted on the company's website.
According to the press release, "this initial phase will be available to a segment of customers that meet specific criteria."
