June 17, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- DiscountASP.NET (discountasp.net), a hosting company that takes a particular pride in its partner relationship with Microsoft, said this week that it has begun offering DBManager and AdminPack IIS Manager extensions in beta.
The company, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, describes itself as "a leading innovator in Windows hosting," and was one of a handful of hosting companies to launch commercial hosting offerings based on Windows Server 2008 immediately, or almost immediately, following the product's launch in late February.
The company says it is the first company to offer the DBManager and AdminPack IIS Manager user interface extensions to customers. The IIS Manager was launched along with Internet Information Server 7, says DiscountASP.NET, to provide customers with a familiar interface through which to manage IIS server configurations remotely.
"Microsoft has been releasing new IIS Manager UI extensions and we wanted to be among the first hosts to make them available in a live environment and give our customers the opportunity to contribute important feedback to help improve these new tools." says the company's VP of marketing Takeshi Eto, in a press release. "Our customers can enable access to all or a subset of the additional IIS Manager UI extensions through their hosting control panel."
Among the IIS Manager extensions offered by DiscountASP.NET are the ASP.NET Authorization Rules UI, the ASP.NET Error Page UI, the Request Filtering UI and DBManager.
