PSoft Releases NOC Monkey 2.0 Beta

June 9, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Comodo Web hosting and server automation division Positive Software (psoft.net) announced on Friday that it is now offering NOC Monkey 2.0 beta 1, the latest version of its Web-based remote server provisioning solution.

The software automates the tedious task of server provisioning by providing a simple Web-based interface from which operating systems can be remotely installed, recovered and deployed. Among the improvements in Version 2.0 beta is the introduction of support for Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP and Windows 2000.

Other additions include recovery mode support for the FreeBSD 6.0 operating system and the new NOC Monkey API. The feature, requested by many PSoft customers, enables users to use and manage all the features of a NOC Monkey server from a console interface.

The system offers admin and user level access, enabling administrators to change root passwords, run fsck in single user mode, recover hacked servers and custom partition hard disks from the same interface. Finally, the new grab/install system enables it to adapt to various OS and hardware configurations by auto detecting new servers.
