Emerson will participate in The Green Grid as a contributing member through its Emerson Network Power business, which it says is the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity and offers a range of power, cooling and service solutions for data centers and other critical facilities.

Emerson Network Power will work closely with The Green Grid's members, like Novell, 365 Main and Rackspace Managed Hosting, to develop meaningful operating standards, measurement methods, processes and new technologies to improve energy efficient performance of global data centers as the demand for computing power continues to rise at an accelerating rate, says the company.

"The Green Grid provides an ideal forum for industry leaders to come together and discuss new approaches to increasing energy efficiency, while promoting and building upon best practices and recognized successes," says David Farr, chairman, president and CEO of Emerson.
