May 27, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Business-class email hosting provider Mailtrust (mailtrust.com) announced on Tuesday it has selected messaging security provider Cloudmark (cloudmark.com) to provide complete spam and phishing protection to Mailtrust's more than 100,000 business hosting customers.

Mailtrust, which launched last month a new integrated control panel, is using the Cloudmark Authority plug-in for Apache SpamAssassin to improve message filtering accuracy and boost system performance.
Cloudmark's message filtering solution, coupled with Mailtrust's hosted business-class email services, provides business customers with messaging capabilities, higher email service quality and an improved user experience.
"With spam making up more than 95 percent of all email traffic, it is important for us to provide our customers with a reliable solution that stops unwanted email traffic before it impacts internal messaging infrastructure and storage," says Pat Matthews, president of Mailtrust. "Also, Cloudmark's automatic threat protection has enabled us to refocus engineering and administrative resources away from maintenance issues in order to be able to focus more on our customers' needs."
After evaluating several solutions, Mailtrust chose the Cloudmark Authority plug-in for Apache SpamAssassin for its improved filtering accuracy, fingerprinting technology and real-time feedback and reduced server load, CPU usage and power consumption.
Cloudmark also integrates seamlessly with Mailtrust's new integrated control panel, which enables customers to control both Exchange and Noteworthy email services from a single location.
Users can also manage their Cloudmark spam settings through Mailtrust's new control panel, enabling a single domain with both types of mailboxes and one shared set of spam controls.
In March, Australian Web hosting provider Melbourne IT selected Cloudmark to protect its email subscribers from messaging abuse. The WHIR also recently interviewed Cloudmark CTO Jamie de Guerre, where he discussed the inner workings of advanced message fingerprinting technology and global threat network.
