May 22, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (hitachigst.com), a division of global electronics company Hitachi (hitachi.com), announced on Thursday it has named Steven Craig to the position of VP of quality.
In this position, Craig will manage quality assurance across the entire component technology and product portfolio. Craig will be based at Hitachi GST's office in San Jose, California.
This is the second appointment Hitachi GST has announced in less than a week, having appointed Raj Das last week to senior vice president of worldwide marketing.
Steven has strong leadership, strategic vision, technical depth and worldwide customer support expertise, with significant experience in customer service and support leadership in the hard disk drive industry, as well as other industries. "Steven's appointment will ensure that Hitachi continues to meet the high quality benchmarks that our customers have come to expect from us," says Hiroaki Nakanishi, CEO of Hitachi GST. "We are excited to have him join our team and look forward to his leadership in elevating what is already recognized as a world-class quality and customer service organization."
He most recently served as vice president of service and support at Dot Hill, where he provided cross-functional leadership and direction to service and support and helped drive quality and customer engineering.
Before that, Craig spent 11 years at Maxtor, where he held the positions of account manager, senior director, global accounts and, finally, VP of worldwide customer engineering. He also worked in various engineering positions at Conner Peripherals in the UK and in Houston, Texas.
Hitachi GST develops advanced hard disk drive that provide "high-value, high-capacity storage in formats suitable for the office, in the home or on the road."
