Hosted Solutions currently operates two data centers in Charlotte, as well as facilities in Raleigh and Cary, North Carolina, and Boston, Massachusetts - all of which are interconnected by a fully redundant private network.
The company was acquired in April by media and communications private equity firm, ABRY Partners, for $140 million.
Comprised of seven professional colleges, UNC Charlotte has more than 75,000 living alumni and adds up to 4,500 new alumni each year. The institution currently offers 18 doctoral programs, 61 master's degree programs and 89 leading to bachelor's degrees.
Hosted Solutions says it will provide services for The College of Health and Human Services' web-based portal, which is part of the State Center for Health Statistics project, North Carolina Community Health Assessment Initiative.
The project instructs health professionals on the strengths and health care needs of people in their community. The information gathered in the web portal will help assess the health of individual communities, build effective public programs and policies and evaluate the impact of these initiatives.
The web host will provide bandwidth, managed firewall, collocation, SPLA licensing, OS management, managed backup services out of its SAS 70 Type II certified data center facility.
