May 14, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- On-demand infrastructure hosting provider Layered Technologies (layeredtech.com) revealed the opening keynote speaker for its upcoming LT PACT 2008 (ltpact.com) conference on wednesday.
Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.
The company says James Staten, principal analyst, IT Infrastructure and Operations at Forrester Research, will deliver his keynote address, "Cloud / Grid Computing: A Classic Disruptive Technology" on June 26 at 8:40 a.m. The event runs from June 25 to 27.
"[Cloud Computing] provides a very low-cost, no-commitment way for enterprises to quickly get new services and capabilities to market that entirely circumvents the IT department," says Staten on the LT Pact website. "Infrastructure and operations professionals can try to ignore it as it is just in its infancy, but doing so may be a mistake as cloud computing is looking like a classic disruptive technology."
Staten has eight years of experience in product marketing and strategy positions for infrastructure providers, says Layered Technologies, and is an expert on x86 servers and server infrastructure, data center futures and application-specific infrastructure deployment trends and technologies.
"We're excited and honored to have James deliver the opening day keynote for LT PACT this year," says Todd Abrams, president and COO of Layered Technologies. "James is an expert in cloud computing and his presentation has mass appeal to our customers, partners and attendees at this year's event."
Beyond the keynote, Layered Technologies says analysts and other leaders in the hosting environment will speak about the most current information in the industry, providing opportunities for attendees to learn industry insights, interact with the latest products in workshops and increase revenue with improved business practices.
The hosting business is entering a busy period for partner conferences. Next week, web hosting software provider Parallels will hold its third annual Parallels Summit while web hosting control panel software provider cPanel will be holding its third annual cPanel Conference in June.
