The company says the significance with this launch means all its server solutions, including shared hosting, VPS and dedicated servers, are now available with either Windows or Linux setups. Easyspace launched its dedicated server offerings earlier this year, in January.

In line with the existing Linux packages, Easyspace says its Windows VPS offerings are available in standard and premium plans, costing $22.20 per month and $42.60 per month respectively, and come with Dual Xeon processors, up to 512MB dedicated RAM and up to 40GB disk space.

"Our VPS products are tailored to customer requirements and demand, not just on price, but also on spec," says Errol Vanderhorst, sales and marketing director at Easyspace. "This focus appears to be working with the company seeing a continual increase in the numbers of virtual servers being sold. The launch of a Windows option only seems to have increased the interest in our virtual server range, and we'll continue to make sure it is developed as a product, like the Linux alternative, based on what our customers are looking for."

Founded in 1997, Easyspace says it was one of the UK's first domain registrars and web hosting providers and over the past decade has grown to become one of Europe's largest hosting companies, serving over 300,000 customers. Easyspace was purchased by the iomart group in 2004, which also operates a managed hosting company by the same name, iomart (iomart.com), as well as online business directory Ufindus (ufindus.com) and Internet security and content management service provider Netintelligence (netintelligence.com).

Late last week, hosting provider Crucial Paradigm annunced that it had launched new VPS hosting packages based on the Windows Server 2008 operating system.
