May 8, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- One of the web hosting business's most notable suppliers of software said this week that it would begin reselling a comparatively little-known server management tool.
Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.
Parallels (parallels.com) said Thursday that it would begin reselling myLittleAdmin (mylittleadmin.com), a web-based administration took for Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
The tool enables the management of database and server objects for service providers through a Web browser, says Parallels, a function that is very complimentary to the company's Plesk control panel. According to the announcement, support for myLittleAdmin is built into the 8.3 version of the Plesk control panel.
Parallels has set up a page on its website dealing specifically with the partnership.
For Parallels, the arrangement adds a valuable function to its existing feature set. For myLittleTools, the partnership has the obvious benefit of exposing the application to a much wider audience, Plesk being the most widely-used third-party control panel in the hosting business.
"We understand how important it is to ensure integration of myLittleAdmin with a popular control panel like Parallels Plesk," says Elian Chrebor, founder of myLittleTools, in the press release. "Through our technical and commercial relationship with Parallels, we now can offer myLittleAdmin to a larger segment of the hosting market at an attractive price."
The integration is part of the ongoing development of Parallels "Open Platform" initiative, which uses APIs to facilitate the integration of its virtualization and automation technology with any sort of third party application or system.
This somewhat more interesting partnership comes after a week in which Parallels announced two new customer relationships, with both Liquid Web and Solar VTG launching new solutions based on the company's software.
