According to the company, the Miva Merchant 5.5 software began streaming to "store owners, web hosts and web designers" at 7 a.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday.
Among the new features in the dot-five release are: a new intuitive interface focused on click-efficiency; seamless import and export of items and pages to and from Dreamweaver; built-in SEO features, including control of DOCTYPE, product and category metatags; and the ability to build an entire store on the skins-enabled CSS framework.
The company has put together a demo of the new administrative interface that can be viewed online, as well as a comprehensive list of features and enhancements, along with product screenshots collected on its website.
Miva Merchant says the new version was "designed to be a seamless update for current Miva Merchant 5 users," and says the feedback from customers so far has been "overwhelmingly positive."
