Highwinds Opens London Sales Op.

May 7, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Content delivery network provider Highwinds Network Group (highwinds.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched sales operations in London to better serve its growing base of partners and customers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.

The company says that its newly opened London content delivery site, at 240 E. India Dock Road, complements its other European CDN site in Amsterdam and consists of 48Gbps of CDN capacity built into 12 racks.

Highwinds also operates a network and peering gateway at Telehouse Docklands, which is connected to E Dock Road via fiber. "The London sites are fully integrated into Highwinds RollingThunder Network with multiple 10 Gbps links to Amsterdam, Paris and across the Atlantic to North America," says the company's recent press release.

Highwinds has hired Stephen James to handle its new EMEA sales operations where he "will enable the company to extend its global reach as a premier content delivery network provider."

James will work with service providers and media companies looking to implement new strategies for the delivery of video and other media content over the Internet, says Highwinds, through its RollingThunder platform. According to Highwinds, this platform offers "important advantages in data center peering, real-time analytics, instant account provisioning, rapid content deployment, complete content control, massive scalability and other critical differentiators."

"The Highwinds CDN provides the breakthrough in delivery infrastructure and services that meets the expectations of digital media consumers for ever-higher levels of real-time interactivity and animation," says James. "I look forward to working with Highwinds' EMEA partners and customers to help them achieve their business goals leveraging the lightning-fast delivery of rich, engaging content."

Before joining Highwinds, James was a streaming media consultant "highly regarded for his expertise in helping companies develop professional services organizations and sales programs in the CDN space," says the press release. He was also a director at Globix for five years.

Founded in 2002, Highwinds says it is a "leader in the development of content replication and delivery software and services," and is best known for its RollingThunder network and StrikeTracker content management and reporting dashboard. The company maintains data centers in 13 different locations across North America and Europe.
