According to the recent press release, this represents an expanded partnership with Parallels, which already provides Liquid Web with Parallels Plesk Control Panel software bundled with its Windows dedicated server offerings. Liquid Web says the offering will be delivered from its two mid-western data centers in Lansing, Michigan.

Parallels Virtuozzo Containers includes the Parallels Infrastructure Manager, "a robust set of management tools that helps Liquid Web personnel deliver their Heroic Support," says Liquid Web. Using the Parallels Infrastructure Manager and Parallels Plesk control panel software, Liquid Web can also offer its customers a control panel for adding software as a service applications as well as the ability to scale the size of their VPS.

Liquid Web says it is taking advantage of the Parallels Virtuozzo Containers' architecture to offer "burstable" memory, like temporarily adding more memory to a container during a short period of high activity so clients can have access to more server resources than they actually pay for.

Founded in 1997, Liquid Web says it has more than 130 employees and around 15,000 customers around the world. In January the company announced that it had more than doubled its head count and grown its revenues by more than 60 percent.

Last week, Solar Virtualization Technologies Group began using Parallels technologies to launch new software as a service solutions for small and medium businesses.
