Together with 6/10 (610corp.net), a private equity investment firm investing primarily in commercial real estate and early stage technology companies, T3 Communications (t3com.net) says that it has opened a new carrier neutral data and enterprise colocation data center in Winter Haven, Florida, "designed to serve SMB, enterprise, government and carrier customers as well as others in need of a secure site for their IT infrastructure and disaster recovery needs."

This is T3 Communications' second data center. The first one is located in Fort Myers, Florida where the company is headquartered.

The new facility, located in 6/10s Inland Fiber & Data Technology Park, features redundant power and cooling systems, high-speed fiber connectivity to the Internet and around-the-clock monitoring and surveillance. The structure is category four hurricane wind load certified and over 140 feet above sea level, providing an ideal location for data, telecommunications and disaster recovery operations, says the company.

"In order to meet the increasing demands for expansion of advanced data and voice services to businesses in Florida, Winter Haven has proven to be an ideal location," says Adam Sewall, president and CEO of T3.  "This facility provides T3 with its own backup operations center as well a modern collocation and disaster recovery facilities for our business and government customers. Our central Florida location and available carrier neutral meet me room space also provides carriers an ideal location to connect."

Perhaps emphasizing just how popular data center openings have been as of late, managed IT service provider Consonus Technologies reported today that it held a grand opening event for its new Salt Lake-area data center.
