According to the company's recent press release, the addition of Microsoft's premium database completes Concentric's Windows .NET hosting platform capabilities, greatly expanding the variety of applications available for use including leading applications like Community Server and various ASP.NET starter kits.

However, due to security reasons, Concentric says it does not currently support direct access to the MS-SQL Server but instead offers fully functional secure Web-based administrative tools to assist in the development and creation process.

"With the addition of Microsoft's SQL Server included in our Windows website hosting plans, we continue to offer our customers elite and affordable services that will enable them to meet or even surpass their company goals. Concentric says MS-SQL Server is the next-generation data management and analysis solution from Microsoft that delivers increased scalability, security and availability for enterprise data. MS-SQL Server enables developers to be more productive and deliver new applications more quickly.

MS-SQL Server 2005 is now available through Concentric's WinProfessional and WinEnterprise hosting plans. Customers using the WinProfessional hosted plan receive up to two database instances and 100MB of total data storage, while the WinEnterprise customers receive up to four database instances and up to 200MB of total data storage.

Last month, Concentric began offering its Perimeter Email Protection service through its new reseller program to provide email security for the email infrastructures of small- to mid-size businesses.
