April 23, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider InfTek (inftekhosting.com) announced on Friday that it had introduced an online backup service known as iTekLogic (iteklogic.com), providing automatic backup for important data over a live Internet connection.

InfTek says online backup provides a worry-free way to protect important data. The iTekLogic solution lets users decide what files are backed up, and when. Once the parameters are set, no more control is required by the user, and backups continue to take place as long as the computer is connected to the internet at the scheduled time.

"Automation in moving your critical data off-site makes for an instant, no-brainer disaster recovery plan," says Kevin Davy, CEO of InfTek, Inc. "iTekLogic users don't have to worry about making backup tapes, CDs, or DVDs and transporting them to a secure location."

According to InfTek, iTekLogic compresses and encrypts files before they leave the user's computer, transmitting them to storage via SSL technology. Two separate facilities keep multiple copies of stored data, providing an extra layer of protection.
