April 18, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Friday that Western International University (wintu.edu), a university for adult education, has selected company CEO and founder Bob Parsons as the commencement speaker for its graduating class of 2008.
The university's graduation will be held on May 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in the Grand Saguaro Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona. Some 338 student will receive degrees including presentations of associate, bachelor and masters degrees.
Parsons himself graduated magna cum laude with an accounting degree from the University of Baltimore. He founded his first venture, Parsons Technology, in 1984 and later sold it in 1996 to Intuit. The following year, he founded The Go Daddy Group, which currently has more than 28 million domain names under management.
"Bob Parsons brings to the table everything that we try to instill in our students," says Mike Seiden, president of Western International University. "A drive to grow, both in education and in business, the demonstration of leadership, entrepreneurship, community contribution and the goal to maximize your strengths on a daily basis."
Parsons recently launched a video version of his blog entitled BobParsons.tv, his latest venture into new media which also includes his original blog and a podcast/satellite radio show.
