April 6, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Discount domain registration and Web hosting provider Dotster (dotster.com) announced on Wednesday that it would begin offering the new .eu domain for the European Union for $14.95, beginning with the commencement of the domain’s land rush period April 7.
The company says the $14.95 rate is considerably less than the prices other registrars are planning. Dotster will offer the rate until April 13 using a coupon code, 1495eu.
"Dotster is proud to offer the .EU domain name to its customers at such a reduced rate," says George DeCarlo, vice president of marketing, Dotster. "We are delighted that the .EU domain name is about to launch and pave the way for millions of new Web sites. We want our clients to be able to participate in the excitement and possibility of seemingly endless new domain names, and do so affordably."
To register a .eu domain, a customer must meet one of several criteria. People physically residing in the European Union are eligible, as are organizations with registered offices, headquarters or main places of business in the EU.
