April 3, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- UK Web hosting provider SupaNames (supanames.co.uk) announced on Thursday it has launched its VPS service, which provides small and medium-sized companies with virtual private servers.
The virtual servers are available on both Microsoft Windows at £14.99 per month, and Linux at £34.99 per month. The service also includes integrated control panels for control with root access, unlimited bandwidth, SMS alerts, Web mail and is SSL ready.
Users can backup their data daily at no extra charge, are given their own unique IP address and are provided with an average response time of less than 30 minutes. SupaName says it also offers a complete 30-day money back guarantee.
"It is not the same as a dedicated line but it is like having one," Macsen Galvin, SupaNames development director, told ZDNet.co.uk. "There is an appropriate level of contention depending on the level of service people want, and that makes it the right choice for many people."
The Linux-based VPSs are designed to work on the open-source Ruby programming language, as well on Ruby on Rails programming framework and Ubuntu 6.06. Meanwhile, the Windows-based VPSs run on 64-bit Windows 2003 Server and include SQL Server 2005 and ASP.net 2.0.
Founded in 1999, SupaNames is a WebFusion (webfusion.co.uk) hosting brand that offers Web hosting, reseller and now, VPS plans.
