Supported by Juniper Networks M120 Multiservice Edge Routers, PEER 1's backbone network will enable the company to offer a range of new ultra high-speed Ethernet and SONET-based business-class services.
"Juniper's architecture and proven JUNOS software provides our organization with the high-performance and reliability we require to address the ever-expanding requirements of our customers," says Ted Smith, VP of operations at PEER 1. "With the new global network based on Juniper's M-series, our customers will experience increased application speed, performance and security, allowing them the flexibility and scalability they need to grow their businesses and online presence."
The new Juniper infrastructure will enable PEER 1 to seamlessly support existing SONET services with its new 10GB Ethernet services, while offering high performance, security and reliability. The M-series offers advanced QoS capabilities and mitigation for DDoS attacks and threats, enabling PEER 1 to both scale and secure new application services for its business customers worldwide.
Juniper Networks M-series Multiservice Edge Routing portfolio combines IP/MPLS capabilities with effective reliability, stability, security and service, says Juniper. The M120 Multiservice Edge Router is the newest addition to the line of Juniper Networks M-series products.
The M120 delivers support for 128GB Ethernet subscriber ports, with 10GB Ethernet or OC-192 uplink capability in a compact form, enabling PEER 1 to deliver high-performance connectivity services with application delivery and true service differentiation.
PEER 1 last turned to Juniper Networks to upgrade its technology in September 2007, when it added its managed firewall solution, Secure Services Gateways. In doing so, PEER 1 cost-effectively expanded its managed firewall services for increased protection, superior capacity and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
