March 12, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Concentric (concentric.com), a subsidiary of XO Communications (xo.com), announced on Monday it is offering its Perimeter Email Protection service through its new reseller program to provide email security for the email infrastructures of small- to mid-size businesses.

With the rise in online security threats and spam email, an effective security tool is essential for businesses of all sizes. However, many SMBs cannot afford to deploy and maintain a secure email solution.
Through Concentric's Reseller Hosting Program, resellers can sell and manage PEP under their own brand, providing these SMBs with a cost-effective email security solution that lowers overall mail volume and blocks malicious email before it reaches their inbox.
First offered by XO in August 2006, PEP now provides Concentric resellers with email security, spam filtering and delivery back-up for businesses that own and manage on-premise email servers. The PEP anti spam service is fully managed, enabling customers to receive new spam filter and anti virus features and upgrades for free. Resellers also have access to wholesale pricing while retaining the customer as their own by providing Tier 1 technical support and billing.
"With so much at risk for business networks through email we wanted to ensure that small and medium sized businesses have an enterprise-level spam blocker application for maintaining and securing their email infrastructures," says Barbara Branaman, president of Concentric. "And we've made it easy for them to get PEP. They can either get it through their current outsourced systems integrator or VAR, or directly from us. We have had reseller hosting programs for over a decade and have designed our new white label Reseller Hosting Program to meet their need to expand the portfolio of services they can provide SMBs under their own brand.
