March 10, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider ServInt (servint.net) announced on Monday it has added its new SuperVPS service. The cost-effective VPS service is designed for small and medium-sized businesses, offering increased redundancy while providing the same computing performance of a traditional dedicated server, says the company.
The new SuperVPS service enables companies to operate their businesses with a minimal impact on the environment, says the company. The solution's "green" features include low energy consumption through efficient virtualization, low-voltage hardware through Dell server hardware, carbon-footprint offsetting through the company's large-scale tree-planting campaigns and 100 percent recycling of component hardware at end of life.
"Many businesses that successfully leverage service providers for web hosting now understand they no longer need a dedicated server to run their applications," says Reed Caldwell, ServInt founder and CEO. "They are eager to adopt virtualization as an important component of a Green IT program."
The SuperVPS solution is available in two plans. The standard SuperVPS plan is priced at $199 per month, and includes 3000GB on monthly transfer and 50GB of storage. The SuperVPS 100 plan is priced at $229 per month, and includes 3500GB of monthly transfer and 100GB of storage.
