March 3, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- UK managed hosting provider iomart (iomart.com) announced on Thursday that it has signed a five-year contract with the UK's leading telecom operator to provide it with managed data center facilities. The name of the telecom operator was not disclosed.
The contract is worth a minimum of £6.75m spread equally over the five year period and excludes the cost of power. Further revenues may be generated from the provision of additional managed services, says the company.
"We are pleased to announce our first significant customer for our data center facilities," says Angus MacSween. "The thorough diligence process that we had to go through to secure this contract confirms the quality of our data center portfolio and our managed hosting capability."
In January, iomart signed a three-year contract to handle all aspects of the customer Web platform service offered by UK Online.
