One of the biggest changes through this deal is that Pro Net has permanently migrated its customer services and marketing to Homepage Universe's portal because of how user friendly it is. The company says the key to making this purchase work is to maintain the positive customer experience of Homepage while adding the technical know-how and support that Pro Net has built a reputation for.

"We purchased Homepage Universe for two reasons," says Gary Aslanyan, president of Pro Net. "First, we really liked the user experience they provided, it's clean and simple, with no pitfalls or hidden conditions. It has the kind of appeal a site like GoDaddy has, but is even easier to use. Customers know exactly what they are getting and what they have to do to get it. But our main reason for the purchase was to grow our business without the usual costs and risks of trying to grow through aggressive marketing."

The acquisition has approximately doubled Pro Net's size and it is now providing shared and dedicated hosting for over 100,000 domains. Pro Net believes this gives the company a leading edge it didn't have before, enabling it to better compete with the bigger players in the hosting market.
