February 7, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- On-demand sales compensation management developer Centive (centive.com) announced on Monday that Web hosting provider NaviSite (navisite.com) had deployed Centive's Compel automated sales compensation system to give its sales teams more visibility into their progress.
Centive says its Compel tool automates sales compensation through a centralized system that provides the accuracy, flexibility and IT-independence often missing from homegrown Excel-based compensation systems. Compel also provides a complete audit trail of changes made to plans and data, as well as security process controls for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives.
"We had a number of business objectives in automating our sales compensation management processes," said Gina Murphy, vice president of IT and R&D at NaviSite. "We wanted a more efficient process and the ability to see a dashboard view of opportunities and progress in closing them. Equally important, we wanted to take a resource-draining activity and make it useful by giving salespeople real-time visibility into their status. Knowing how close you are to achieving a goal can be powerful motivation to help reach that goal."
The latest version of Centive includes integration with CRM systems to enable sales reps and managers to forecast compensation based on opportunities within those systems.
