February 5, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Digital Realty Trust (digitalrealtytrust.com) announced on Monday it has acquired Unit 9, Blanchardstown Corporate Park in Dublin, Ireland for a purchase price of 36.3 million euros. The property consists of a 120,000 square foot data center facility, which is being managed by Digital Realty Trust, and is currently 90 percent leased.
The company also announced that it received approvals and has started construction on a new 120,000 square foot data center on land it acquired in Dublin in early 2006 in the Clonshaugh Industrial Estate. Digital Realty Trust acquired the 2.6 acres as part of the acquisition of a 20,000 square foot data center facility, which it subsequently leased to a major US internet enterprise.
The company has also launched its European operations with staff located in its London, England and Dublin, Ireland offices to manage its turn-key data centers and build-to-suit data centers operations, and critical facilities management.
