January 28, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- UK Web hosting and design provider Easyspace (easyspace.com) announced on Monday the winner of its recent £3000 Custom Web Design "Worst Website" competition.
The Web host received over 500 entries, which it eventually narrowed down to four finalists. Easyspace then put these four finalists up for public vote for a two-week duration, until advertising-calendars.com was voted by Easyspace users as the website most in need of a free website makeover.
"We contacted [website owner] Mr. Godding late on Monday afternoon to let him know of his win," says Errol Vanderhorst, sales and marketing director for Easyspace. "He seemed thrilled at the news and we are delighted to now be able to help him, and hopefully his business, by delivering an extensive website re-design worth up to £3000."
The competition was launched December 10, when Easyspace first invited users to send in their websites and their explanations as to why they felt they had the worst website. Easyspace selected four finalists based on site design and their reasoning, then allowed customers to vote on which website they felt should win.
