January 8, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Home server platform provider Axentra (axentra.com) announced on Monday that it has licensed SSL certificate technology from certification authority and security provider GlobalSign (globalsign.com) as part of the company's new HipServ Advanced Security Subscription. The announcement was made from the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The new HipServ technology will enable users to transfer digital files, including personal photos, videos and documents with the knowledge that the material is being protected from hacking through GlobalSign's SSL certificates. GlobalSign's SSL technology adds a new level of trust to saving, storing, syncing and sharing digital media around the home and around the world, on a wide variety of platforms and devices, says Axentra.
"GlobalSign SSL technology will allow the highest level of security when connecting to external devices or servers via the Internet," says Niall O'Driscoll, VP of marketing and product for Axentra. "As part of the HipServ Advanced Security Subscription, GlobalSign will give users confidence that their important personal files will be protected."
The HipServ Advanced Security Subscription will first be available at the end of Q1 of 2008 for $39.99 per year.
Last month, GlobalSign became authorized by Adobe to provide products and services using Adobe's certified document services platform.
