January 3, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- The international association of managed service providers MSPAlliance (mspalliance.com) announced on Wednesday it will release a managed service provider's code of ethics and conduct this week.
The MSPAlliance Code marks the first time a set of ethical rules has been created specifically for the managed services industry. The association says the code sets forth principles for members within the MSPAlliance and will not only be used as a code of conduct necessary for maintaining good standing within the membership but also to advise the global membership of MSPs during the course of their professional activities.
The code sets forth specific ethical behavior for managed services professionals while at the same time encouraging MSPAlliance members to engage in activities that will advance the cause of the membership and the industry such as education, professional advancement and managed services advocacy.
"Any profession that seeks to gain legitimacy amongst their peers and clients needs to have rules that will help guide their activities," says Celia Weaver, vice president of the MSPAlliance. "The managed services provider code of conduct signifies an elevation of the bar for this industry."
