January 2, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Managed hosting and IT infrastructure provider Data393 (data393.com) announced on Wednesday that it has been acquired by data center operator Managed Data Holdings for an undisclosed amount and will likely continue operating under the Data393 brand.

As part of the acquisition, Brett Jones, who has had over 15 years of experience in the sales and operations of colocation and managed services businesses, has been named general manager of Data393. Managed Data Holdings says it also operates Intelenet Communications in Irvine, California, and with Data393, it now has a combined capacity of over of 60,000 square feet.

"We are focused on delivering the services that small to medium-sized businesses and enterprise customers need through our network of data centers and Data393's proven ability to provide those services made it a perfect fit," says Peter Stevenson, CEO of Managed Data Holdings. "We believe that moving forward immediately with the expansion of available high density, raised-floor capacity at Data393 and offering customers diverse, multi-site solutions are important additions to an already excellent brand in the marketplace."

Data393 says it made a deal with Managed Data Holdings because it was searching for a buyer with sufficient capital and industry experience to continue Data393's long-term growth strategy and data center expansion for 2008.

Data393 also recently signed a multi-year agreement with IT compliance and security solutions provider Alert Logic.
