Surviving five years in the ultra-competitive world of the adult Internet is a difficult task. Companies need to stay abreast of new technologies, customer demands and constant changes to the business environment, while thinking ahead at the same time.
Gamma Entertainment (Gammae.com), however, has not only survived five long years - it's become bigger and more successful with every step.
Based in Montreal, Canada, Gamma has designed and developed a multitude of Web sites and webmaster programs that span a wide range of services and audiences. These include Gamma Drugs and Gamma Cash, webmaster affiliate programs; Sex Swap, a banner exchange network; numerous content sites, and Erotism.com, a popular free Web hosting service.
Not bad for a company that started in 1996 in a "dark, damp basement", according to Gamma's Web site. Virginie, the company's Marketing Manager, says Gamma's staff helps the firm move quickly and efficiently, two keys to success in the adult Internet business. "We have a great team, [and] all projects are achieved quickly because of the input of all departments," she says.
This is not to say, however, that coordinating a multitude of sites and programs isn't difficult, but Virginie says Gamma's team works together in a manner that allows for both easy management and constant creative input. "We try to do weekly meetings to exchange information about the good things as well as the bad things that happened during the previous week," she says. "Of course, we all help each other when needed."
The company's wide variety of offerings has also been key to its growth, she says. "It enables us to offer a wider range of solutions to our partners and to diversify the income sources for the company. The more products [and] services we offer, the more people we can reach."
Because the industry has become so competitive, webmasters have become much more business-savvy as well. Gamma is well aware they are the key to success when promoting any programs or Web sites, and tries to go the extra mile to ensure they are happy. "When they have requests, we take very good care of answering them in a timely matter," Virginie says. "People will contact us to get special promotional material or to get help and advice setting up their Web sites. They expect and we provide personalized service."
Keeping in line with the company's philosophy of staying ahead, Virginie says there are no plans to slow down despite operating more than a dozen Web sites and several webmaster programs. The company is currently working hard to promote GammaXtreme, its new sponsorship program launched in February offering $35 per signup to promote four of the company's newest sites.
Gamma is also planning to roll out a Web development and programming service in the near future, as well as a number of other new features - but the company is hesitant to say what they are. "We are constantly developing new tools to help our partners get the most out of their traffic and investments," Virginie says. "Other projects are to come, but they are top secret."
