Velocitus formerly, known as RMC Internet Services, serves more than 25,000 business and residential customers throughout the Western US. Founded in 1991, the company has provided high quality telecommunications services in more than 200 cities for nearly a decade.
Velocitus was acquired by IDACORP, Inc. in August of 2000 and now operates within IDACORP's communication subsidiary, IDACOMM. The companies joined forces to leverage IDACORP's financial strength and stability with Velocitus' technical expertise in the communications sector. IDACORP Inc., formed in 1998, is the $3.9 billion holding company of IDACOMM and Velocitus.
"This agreement represents a major step forward in terms of extending our reach within the service provider market," said John Williamson, managing director of service provider sales for eSoft. "Velocitus is an excellent strategic partner for eSoft and we are very pleased they have selected the InstaGate EX2 as part of their service offering."
