More than 120 guests attended the 7th WHIR Networking Event of 2009 last night in Miami Beach, Florida.
It was the usual mix of web hosts, data centers and ISPs, with a more-than-usual representation of telecommunications companies, given that VON and Channel Partners events happened to have coincided the same week. With the apparent the lack of after-hours networking events at the two conferences, our Miami event was a welcome evening for the trade show attendees.
There was a lot of networking, hand shaking and card exchanging going on in Rokbar Miami, which turned out to be an ideal venue for the size of the crowd. It was intimate and there was a lot of engaging conversation taking place throughout the 3 hour event. We received lots of positive feedback from attendees as well as sponsors.
We’d like to once again thank our sponsors OpenSRS, Secure128, Telx and Nimsoft, who gave away some very generous door prizes including Miami Dolphins tickets, a Kindle and AMEX gift card.

The next WHIR event is in Washington, DC on October 22, and we are expecting a larger than expected turnout, so please be sure to RSVP in advance here. Sponsorship for that event is already sold out, thanks to Parallels, OpenSRS, Net2EZ, UltraDNS, Afilias and Nimsoft.
